Each of us is born with various abilities, ambitions, and hopes. We use them to advance through life by making plans, setting goals, and acting to reach them. Kids dream up their world as they would live it as adults. Teenagers plot educational paths that will lead them toward a chosen career. Adults progress through life by planning stages, completing them, and continuing to the next one. It is a continuous journey from early childhood to the very end of life.

The seeds of these dreams and plans often come from personal experiences. We meet a successful person who occupies a field that is appealing to us, and become impressed by their conduct. Next, we imagine ourselves in that position; what it would be like doing that and all the great things it would bring us. From that point it becomes a journey toward a goal and our future.

Some people enjoy great command over their plans, and are able to see them to fruition with little assistance. Others require guidance and support to maintain the course. Then there are those who do not see the path at all; they may feel the need to change direction when experiencing stagnation, boredom, anxiety and pain in their life, but are unable to redirect themselves out of it.

The physical difficulty and pain are but a symptom of being stuck in the wrong environment; this hardship is moored in a state of mind. Force of habit, lack of motivation, fear of the unknown, limited foresight, and perspective. These and more are what may contribute to a person finding themselves in that state. But now what? Can such a person pull out of this situation on their own?

Probably not.

That state of mind makes it almost impossible for one to independently facilitate a change. The process, therefore, requires, in addition to planning and executing, the teaching and training of identifying and selecting the course to implement a successful journey. These paths cover the range of humane experience, from the personal and intimate to the professional and public. To address that need for answers, to successfully navigate through the challenges and possibilities, one needs the support of a person who is trained and qualified to assist effectively.

Life coaches are professionals who are trained for those exact situations and are a proven way to succeed through such challenges. Over the past nine years, I was fortunate to support a number of people who faced these types of challenges. From stagnation and stress involving their personal life to disappointment and delusion with their professional environment. Each person is different and so are their case. Through the coaching dynamic, we dig deep to identify challenges, needs ambitions, and possibilities, and investigate ways to successfully address them.
