Hate is a strong emotion that causes us to act in ways other emotions fall short on. Love is the only other emotion that comes close to that. Hate drives our actions to extremes and paints them in strong, dangerous colors. A world of hate, accented by fear and misunderstanding, is a dangerous environment to exist in. Reason, common sense, and sometimes the rule of law are brushed aside, leaving the person awash in negative emotions, feral and raw. Their intellectual process is shortcut by the irrational pulses that override sound judgment and clear thought. They become an animal roaming a dense virtual jungle while existing in a civil world.

Hate does not develop by itself. It grows from seeds of belittling language, fear-mongering, misunderstanding, and a need for security from unknown threats. Hate is taught and handed down by parents, community leaders, politicians, and conspiracy theorists, who use it to promote their agenda and shore up support and obedience to their cause. Like cancer on the soul, hate grows with time and diminishes the health and functionality of the entire body. It realigns the DNA of the individual, leaving them weak and vulnerable. The course and progression in life are dictated by the embedded fear and the people who instilled and promoted it to them.

Fear generates mistrust in other people and institutions, including the fearing person themself. It causes stagnation in different areas of life due to poor self-image and low self-esteem. It promotes violence and loss of control, pushing others to distance themselves from the individual for their safety. Those regressions are hard to reverse and the resulting damage is difficult to repair. The fearful person becomes gradually isolated, further spinning down into their self-demise.

Dark places can be examined and cleared by light and attention. To treat fear, an individual needs to choose tools that can shed light on their dark places. Reliable information, good education, trusted sources, and sound critical thinking are needed to clear the false information from the truth. Healthy awareness, combined with scrutiny of facts and careful selection of sources are fundamental tools for avoiding the dark place of fear. Much like in medicine, a healthy being requires constant effort and attention to danger and risks.
